Summer Camps for Kids
Our summer schedule has begun; that means 150 to 160 new kids every
three weeks. God has blessed us with a wonderful relationship with
one local T.B. sanatorium. We have visited the children there twice
a month for several years. During the summer, they sponsor summer
camps for kids and invite us to share the gospel with each new group
of children. Last Saturday was our first group of kids. Our team
of 12 volunteers loaded up the van and spent the afternoon playing
games, singing songs, making new friends, and sharing the gospel.
Vitaly asked if the kids wanted to make a commitment to Jesus as
Lord and Savior. 32 kids came forward! What a blessing!!!
Discipleship Training School
Two weeks ago our first year students graduated from our DTS school.
Originally we planned to offer only one year of classes. The students
(we had eleven total) all made it very clear they did not want to
stop. So after confirmation through prayer, we will be offering
a second year of classes. In addition, we will offer the first year
again to new students. We have one problem though. We need more
teachers! Are you interested in spending a year in Ukraine? Drop
me an email to express your interest!
August Outreach to Yevpretoria
In August our youth will be taking a one week evangelistic mission
trip to the southern city of Yevpretoria. It is a small city located
on the Black Sea. There is a new Calvary Chapel church plant there.
They plan to hit the streets everyday to do skits, mimes, pass out
tracts and church invitations. Please pray for God to pour out His
Spirit upon their time together.
Cairo Hospital
In May, Michelle and I were blessed with the opportunity to spend
a week in Egypt to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I became
ill several days into our stay, was treated at the hotel clinic,
and started feeling better. Two days later we boarded a tour bus
to Cairo and the pyramids. An hour into our six hour bus ride I
was in severe pain. There was nowhere to go except Cairo. (We were
in the middle of the desert) Once in Cairo I was taken by ambulance
to the hospital and diagnosed with mineral deposits in my kidneys.
They started IV fluids, pain medication and by 3 PM the next day,
I was feeling much better and we returned to our hotel in Hurghada.
We missed the Cairo Museum and the pyramids, but I was feeling much
better!
Our Family
We are well with the exception of Alex. He has battled tonsillitis
all winter and now again this summer. Once he is better we plan
to take him to the hospital to have his tonsils removed. The kids
have finished school and are enjoying the summer. Next week our
son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Sara, will be visiting from Finland.
They will be here for three weeks.
Prayer requests:
For God to continue blessing our T.B. camp outreaches.
That the kids who gave their lives to Jesus will begin to grow,
can find a church home once they return home, and that their parents
will be receptive to their new faith.
Pray for our youth team as they head to Yevpretoria.
We are intensifying our prayer for our city and revival over the
summer. Pray for God's leading and blessing upon our prayer times.
Pray for our church that God will help us all fall more in love
with Him and with one another and those around us.
Pray for Alex as he has surgery.
Thank you all for your prayers, letters, and gifts! You are a blessing
and encouragement! If you are a pastor or missions coordinator and
would like to make copies of our E-news to distribute, feel free
to make as many copies as you would like and thank you for spreading
the word about the work God is doing here in Dnipro.

"Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without
money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not
bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully
to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in
abundance." Isaiah 55:1-3
